Weird and wacky comedy series about the Twist family who live in a lighthouse

The main characters in the programme are: Tony Twist (the father of the family), Pete and Linda Twist (the older kids) and Bronson Twist (the youngest child of the family).

In every episode of the programme, the Twist family come across something very strange and bizarre. These things range from haunted toilets and machines that let people choose how old they are, to remote controls that let you "pause" people.

The first Series of Round the Twist was broadcast in the UK and Australia in 1990. It was devised by Paul Jennings, and each episode was based on a storyline from a short story in his children's books. Paul Jennings also wrote the screenplays for every episode in the first series. The second series was broadcast in noth the UK and Australia in 1993. This time it was written by Paul Jennings and Esben Storm. In this series, each episode was based one one of Paul Jennings' short stories, except the very last one.

Many years later the production company decided that it wanted to make more episodes of the programme. Paul Jennings was not involved in this series at all, and he later revealed in an interview that he did not really want any new episodes to be made. Since the television company had the rights to the programme, they simply hired their own writers for the new series. These new series were broadcast in the UK in 2000 and 2001.
