Regional programme about the history of London Adam Hart-Davis presents this programme explaining the history of London through London's landmarks. The first programme in the series was about the various bridges of London, including Tower Bridge, Westminster Bridge, London Bridge and the QE2 Bridge. Episode two was about the military defences of London, including the London Wall, the Tower of London, and the Cabinet War Rooms. Episode three featured London's palaces including Hampton Court Palace, Buckingham Palace, the Palace of Westminster and Alexandra Palace. Episode four was about the tall buildings of London, and featured St Paul's Cathedral, Battersea Power Station, the BT Tower, Canary Wharf, and "The Gherkin". How London was Built was an ITV and History Channel co-production. It was broadcast in the ITV London region. |
