Documentary series outlining key dates in world history Days That Shook the World was a series of one-hour programmes that showed dramatic movie-like reconstructions of various dates in history. Each programme was split into two half hours that showed reconstructions of two different dates that were connected in some way. The reconstructions made extensive use of background music and split-screens in a film-like way. Actors played the key historical figures, but they spoke very little in the actual scenes. Instead, the characters would mainly communicate with the viewer by means of voiceovers of actual quotes made by the person that they were portraying. Usually, the events that unfolded over the course of the day in question would be explained by the programme's narrator, Peter Guinness. The first series was broadcast in 2003 and consisted of the following episodes. Sometimes, the hour long programmes were split into half hour programmes that followed one individual day in history. The following lists show each individual day that appeared in the programme.
The second series was broadcast in 2004. Related Amazon Product - Click for more |
